New Video! The Test Ride

Posted by Ken Tovich on

Featuring the new 2018 DarkMatter and Team Frame by JRI,  “the Test Ride” is now up on the JustRideIt YouTube channel.  Check out the new frames and some sick riding courtesy of JRI-sponsored team rider Rob (Instagram: eightyxproof) and local Fitzroy gun Finn (Instagram: week.away) as they put the new framesets through their paces.

Shot entirely on location in Fitzroy, Victoria (JRI’s very own ‘hood) and including guest appearances by Melbourne’s ubiquitous and opinion-polarizing O-Bikes, the new video was inspired by some fantastic early summer weather in December and shot spontaneously on a single Saturday afternoon.  It showcases the unencumbered freedom and simplicity of fixed gear freestyle, and the simple joys of blasting around your favourite urban playground.  The JRI film crew had to perform some impromptu traffic management and prop acquisition in order to capture all the action - check it out for a little slice of manic pie…

…or better yet, grab one of our bikes and create your own soundtrack in your neighbourhood !ii!

ARPANET launched in the US during 1960s, when the US defense force linked several super-computer sites across the country to ensure they would still operate in the event of a nuclear blast taking one out. Its effectiveness may be about to be tested if we are to believe the rumors currently circulating from Russia. Given the initial success of this network, large businesses, universities and government agencies, both US and foreign, began linking to the network to ease sharing of data and ideas and the internet as we know it was born.

Fast forward just over 50 years and today there is in excess of over 670 million daily users worldwide. While most of those users believe the internet is just a place where lots of naked ladies live, there are several who are maximizing the full potential the world wide web has to offer. Just Ride It’s newly refurbished site is a prime example, which has a new sleek design thanks to our newest addition to the team, Eva Daly, who has brought her design expertise and flair all the way from the Emerald Isle to Brunswick St.

The new design has been launched in time for summer and includes all our new goodies and range of summer rides to keep you coming back for more. One of the most popular new features is our ‘request a design’ page. This is where customers can make a simple concept a reality. All you need to do is upload any image/company logo/branding to the page and let our design team bring it to life in the form of a one of a kind, single speed, bike.

Another popular feature is our checkout. All you simply have to do is select one of the great bikes from our range, add your payment details and within 4 days you can ride your bike. Go on, test it out. If for some strange reason you cannot see a bike that tickles your fancy, then tell us what you want and we will build it.

VR Fixed Gear Racing - JustRideIt Bikes Melbourne

Check our new video, Just a bit of fun to kick the spring off, Featured Steve Atkinson as the VR rider, Dan Cox as the 2nd player. Huge thanks to Dylan Perry Productions for making this all work out.

After being sat in traffic in the winter months hopefully this will inspire you to get out on the bike and have some full this summer.. Enjoy!

 VR Fixed Gear Racing

Well if you didn't think that any good ideas could be concocted after 8 pints of Stella and 4 Jaeger-bombs, well time to think again. The boys from Just ride it have concocted this little nugget that shows exactly what's achievable riding round the streets of Melbourne instead of being stopped at every possible turn in nose to tail traffic which appears not to have moved in days in a virtual reality street riding challenge.

All elements of street riding are taken into account in this game. Take on your friends in this head to head masterpiece which rewards riders putting everything at risk. Gain much required boosts from riding regularly in designated cycle lanes, overtaking slow moving taxis and beating 100s of squashed commuters by cruising past over-congested trams. Rumours have that future versions will include random drivers turning left without indication giving surprised cyclists little chance to avoid and a special bonus for surviving the dooring gauntlet that is Chapel St in rush hour.

No stone has been left unturned in the creation of this game. To secure your copy just bring $5,000 to JRI headquarters. Alternatively, if you want to really see what Melbourne is like when you dominate the traffic on a bike, get into the shop and get yourself a bike to experience the phenomenon for real!
